As the documentary Unmasking Influenza nears completion, Canadian Geographic Education’s new eight metre by eleven metre Giant Floor Map illustrating how the Spanish Flu spread worldwide is now available. Students can walk along the geographic routes the deadliest flu pandemic took. And, with the map’s accompanying interactive teaching tools, learn about the pandemic’s devastating impact.

Canadian Geographic Education will also create a poster map adapted from the Giant Floor Map that will be made available to our more than 19,000 teacher network. The poster version of the floor map allows teachers, who are not able to access the Giant Floor Map, to access the teaching activities.
